HV Pulse Technologies, Inc. () was established in 1976 to design and build state of the art high voltage pulse generators. It was acquired by Thirty Sigma Corporation in 1990.
HV Pulse has two business segments, Standard Products (50%) and Custom Products (50%). About 50% of the units built are for export. HV Pulse products are used in mining, oil exploration, rock analysis, material testing, lightning simulators, time of flight, image intensifiers, high speed cameras, lasers, piezo-electric drivers, biophysics, physics research, and chemistry research.
Standard Products - The company manufactures Standard Products which are listed on the Standard Product Summary Sheet. Some modifications to these products are possible to address specific customer requirements.
Custom Products - The company designs, develops and manufacturers custom high voltage pulsing equipment to specific customer requirements. The company has developed many units based on a wide range of circuit topologies, high voltage switches, and control systems. Pulse voltages from 1 kV to 100 kV are typical. Elementary control systems to computer based control systems are developed based on the customer's requirements. It is the company's goal to work closely with the customer in the early phase of the project to insure a clear understanding of the operating and testing requirements from both the customers and HV Pulse's perspective. Final acceptance testing is normally done at HV Pulse. Customer's are encouraged to attend acceptance testing.
HV Pulse Technologies, Inc. does all of the circuit design, printed circuit board layout, mechanical design, mechanical drawings, assembly and testing in-house. Outside vendors are used for complex machining, metal fabrication, and printed circuit board etching. The company has a wide range of PC Compatible computer aided design tools, such as circuit simulators, schematic entry, and printed circuit board layout, in addition to drawing, word processing, publishing and graphical analysis software.
The company administrative, marketing, engineering, and manufacturing offices are located in Columbia, Maryland.
